This is a ministry of Cornerstone Baptist Church,

Mount Pleasant, AR

My name is Chaplain Ron Faught. I serve as chaplain at two different county jails in the state of Arkansas. I am in need of softback bibles. They can be new or used. I can also use small paperback Christian booklets. If you could only see how the inmate's eyes light up when they are given a bible of their very own, I think everyone reading this page would send a bible, or even several bibles.

Another thing that would surprise you is how easy it is to lead inmate's to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. They are just sitting there waiting for a chaplain or jail minister to come in and tell them about Jesus. Jail ministry is by far the greatest mission field in America. Christian friends. I am pleading with you. PLEASE send bibles to the address below.

Matt. 25: 35-40, For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Every night over a million children go to bed without one or both parents at home. Why? Because their parents are in jail or prison.

The shame of having a mom or dad in prison affects these children – and the custodial parent or family member. As a result, these children are at-risk to follow in their incarcerated parent’s footsteps and perpetuate the vicious cycle of crime. But there is a better way …

Jail & prison ministries to those behind bars are making great strides through Bible Studies, and preaching the gospel. Those inmates that put their trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior have a lot less chance of going back to prison after they are released. In fact, about 80% of those who do not get saved, return to jails and prisons. Of those who do get saved, only about 20% Return to jail. It is my goal to put a bible in the hands of every inmate that I come into contact with. PLEASE  HELP  ME DO  THIS  BY  SENDING  OLD  OR  NEW  BIBLES. No hardbacks please.

Comfort From Psalms

Psa 27:1   The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psa 28:7  The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped:

Psa 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Psa 37:39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

Psa 46:1  God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Psa 50:15  And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Psa 55:22  Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee:

Psa 68:19  Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.

Psa 108:12  Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

Psa 121:8, The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

 Addiction

1 Corinthians 3:16-17, Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.

1 Corinthians 6:12, All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

2 Peter 2:19, While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

Rom 6:16, Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Who needs Jesus? All people do! Jesus announced the "good news" to the poor, those who were in prisons, recovery of sight for the blind and freedom for those who were bound.  Jesus stood with the poor people of his day. He has called upon us to change the world so that everybody has the opportunity to become all that we can be. Jesus shows us that the "us and them" mentality has no place with Him. We need each other including those locked behind bars.

We regard those behind bars as human beings and "all" were created in God's image. All people including those who are in jail have the same blood. God loves us all. We are to care for one another as God cares for us. This means we are to take actions in life that will insure that all people are treated the same. Even though prison walls are built to hide, the people society would like to forget. God reminds us that "No one is worthless."

 Why So Many Prisoners?

Most inmates have never had both a mother & father.

Married Couples account for less than half American Households.

Traditional marriage has ceased to be the preferred living arrangement in the United States.

More than 14 million households are headed by single women, another 5 million by single men, and a startling 36 million belonged to a category described as "non-family households."

Written by Inmate’s & ex-offender’s

“I had reached a time in my life where I was very depressed and in the throes of alcoholism and drug addiction. I was suicidal and the police were dispatched to my home. Unfortunately, I charged them with a gun and was shot down by the officers. I spent a long time chained to the bed in the ICU. Eventually, though, I found myself alone in a concrete cell in the jail hospital. I had no possessions... no books or even a toothbrush, and I was without God in my heart. The jail chaplain brought me a Bible and a small Christian booklet.’ These I read carefully and I gave my heart to Jesus in that jail cell right there in the St. Louis County Jail’s infirmary. I have experienced a profound healing in my gunshot arm as well as have been given a second chance by the judge. So long as I stay with God, I will stay clean and sober and if I stay clean and sober... well, I don’t have to worry about going back to prison. Thank you for reaching out to inmates, those in jail are in tremendous spiritual agony and really need organizations such as yours.”

Adversity, Hardship, & Affliction. Troubles bring us closer to God

 Job 5:17-18

Behold, happy [is] the man whom God corrects: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

Psalms 9:9-10

The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

Psalms 34:19-20

Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Proverbs 24:10

[If] thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength (faith) [is] small.

Romans 5:3-4

And not only [so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation works patience.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Blessed [be] God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

James 1:2-3

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;  Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith works patience.
